Angle Closure Glaucoma Angle closure glaucoma is also known as closed angle glaucoma, narrow angle glaucoma, and pupillary block glaucoma. Typically this type of glaucoma occurs in adult life, in those over age 40. The lens of the eye gets slightly bigger (thicker) over years, and this leads to occlusion of the drainage angle in those with already narrow angles (e.g. those with shorter than average eyes).
